The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) released a statement advising that it plans to shut down I-66 eastbound lanes overnight, when the traffic volume is the lowest, at Route 234 Business (Exit 43) for up to one month starting Aug. 21st or 29th. Once crews finish paving the new eastbound lanes, work will immediately shift to the westbound lanes at Route 234 Bypass (Exit 47), closing I-66 overnight toward I-81 for an additional month in order to widen I-66 to four lanes in each direction between Route 234 Business and the Route 234 Bypass in Prince William County. Work is scheduled for completion in Oct. 2006.
When:
Eastbound: Monday through Saturday, 7:00 p.m.—4:00 a.m.
Aug. 21st/Aug. 29th—Sept. 30th
Westbound: Monday through Saturday, 9:00 p.m.—6 a.m.
